Something is terribly wrong... I haven't been knitting. Or spinning.. Well I think the drought is over now, and I'm ACTUALLY inspired! I'm working on mittens. Simple comfort thing, kind of like knittings answer to Mac n Cheese. I'm groovin..
Got some beautiful fiber I bought at MD sheep and wool ready to ply...thinking hmmm...I can groove on that too!
I think I'm baaaaaaaack!!

Spring has
sprung...so now what?? Well its a mad dash to the teachers gifts finish line! I'm knitting a cable scarf for my youngests teacher assistant...I've had so many people try to show me cables, but what finally made it make sense was a little plonk on the head from my knitting lady Nancy and a REAAAALLY easy pattern. It made cables make sense! Now I'm cabling like a fool...I'm in love with cables! So thanks Nancy!! The pattern I'm working on is so pretty...lots of intertwined cables....just gorgeous! Then I need to think of what to do for her primary teacher!! (Any suggestions ,if anyone actually is reading this, would be welcome!)
My oldest daughters teacher is having her first baby so that gift was a no brainer! A Baby blanket is cast on and I work on it at home..Her other teacher is so sweet and I'm stumped on her too!! I'm also going to try and get a baby blanket done for a young girl I know who is having a baby...if anyone knows how much support a young mom needs its me. I'm going to think of it as a prayer baby blanket, in hopes that her baby will be as wonderful a baby as my oldest(who is going to be 18 in mere weeks!!) was.
Lots of other things have been going on, but we are all hanging in there... its always hectic this time of year! Even more so this year with a graduation looming and one moving up to Middle School. I'm going to try to make time to get to Mirandas for a serious dye party over spring break. Keep your fingers crossed!!

A snow day!
Ok I'm actually going to blog! (Happy Kathy???LOL!) I have a snow day...I'll hate this snow day in June when we are stuck in school but right now I'm grooving on it.. We have about 9 inches of snow and its still falling now.
Its March and we are getting our Christmas snow so I'm going to spend the day finishing(hopefully!) a wrap I've been working on using green Noro Oimochan Multi yarn with leaf lace. That and making kids homemade cocoa to warm them up. It makes me laugh...in 13 days we are supposed to start soccer season and we have all this snow on the ground!

Ok now really...
I should just be ashamed of myself!*smacks own non bloggin' hands;) Well schools out~*strains of Alice Cooper drift through ....~~~* and this tired Mama has been chilling out and relaxing. Too much. I did finish my shawl, and my sonny is a senior...BUT I haven't gotten my house as organized as I hoped. But its getting there.
Thats my goal...to get this place running like a top and then to get down to some serious fiber business! I'd like July to be allllllllll about relaxing with yarn and fiber! ok ok yes I'll do laundry and bathe, but all the heavy duty cleaning I want it done. So somebody pry my tail outta this chair and tell me to get it done! After all there is a beautiful beach with my name on it, and a basket full o fiber...what more do I need?

Keepin on keepin on!
Ok so I've been knitting this shawl. Its for my daycare provider. She has been taking care of my kids for 13 years now, and is family to me now.( But I have still managed to fit in some time to spin. ) Its a lovely blue. Like a soft beachy color, and its so her. I can't believe my youngest is grauating preschool, and I want this shawl to be done in time to give to her then. I hope she loves it as much as we love her! When I'm done I'll post a pic.
Still twirling from Sheep and wool. The beauty! The lush softness! THE FIBER!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh*Rolls around in a pile of roving...*Ahem..excuse me, sorry about that! I'll be spinning happily this summer!*TEEHEE! I'm getting ready to order a jumbo flyer for my wheel. Blissful!
Anyway, back to the shawl!

Craziness and twirling..
Ok, I've been bad, so very very bad about blogging. I've GOT to get it together! It all started out with a respiratory flu that ended with me popping meds, and using an inhaler. Lovely time, truly. You didn't miss anything.
Then I went FIBER CRAZY and ended up at Mirandas house, and yeah. I dyed some serious fiber. It was the most amazing day, so warm I ended up borrowing a tank top. It was nice. Miranda was sorting fiber to get ready for Maryland Sheep and Wool, and I was out back on the deck dying like mad. I ended up with a roving I named Irises thats my favorite, but I did 5 others! Tween Queen, Moutain stream, lottery, playing in mud and Hot under the collar, yeah I had color therapy alright!
Follow that with Maryland Sheep and Wool, oh I'm a happy fiber junkie! DH is drowning in wool:)
To boot, I finally finished spinning AND plying that dark green wool. I really DO like it, but it is so dark and I NEED LIGHT right now! DH is on the verge of making NO MONEY this summer, but it is all working out. And I have stash for sanity. It is all going to be fine in the end. As long as I have fiber and hope, I can do anything;)

Sunday
Ok after years of having an alternative work schedule I finally understand the monday through friday monday grumps. I SO don't want to go to work in the morning, but I'm going to do it.
I didn't get as much done as I had hoped to this weekend, but I did manage to finish plying a bobbin full of the wool I've been working on for a while...So thats something! Who knows. Alright time to get ready for bed:(
